William L. Decker, M.D., is a board certified ophthalmologist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of the vitreo-retinal disease. Dr. Decker offers extensive experience in the management of diabetic retinopathy, age related macular degeneration, retinal detachment, macular hole, epiretinal membrane and other vitreo-retinal disorders. Dr. Decker is a native of Houston. He received his medical degree at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston where he graduated with high honors. He completed his residency in ophthalmology at the University of Texas Health Science Center Houston. This was followed by a vitreo-retinal and ocular oncology fellowship at the Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia. He joined the Texas Eye Institute in 1983. Dr. Decker has lectured and published numerous scientific papers on macular and vitreo-retinal diseases. Dr. Decker is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, The American Society of Retinal Specialists and The Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Dr. Decker is available for appointments at our Southwest, Southeast and Angleton offices.
