Katherine Kim Tran O.D., is a certified therapeutic optometrist specializing in primary eye care.
As a primary eye care provider, Dr. Tran conducts comprehensive eye exams, treats common vision problems such as nearsightedness, farsightedness and astigmatism, and prescribes glasses and contact lenses. She also offers diagnosis and treatment of ocular diseases and is a certified glaucoma specialist.
Dr. Tran received her Bachelor of Science Degree at the Louisiana State University and her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Houston of Optometry. She completed specialty training through externships in specialty contact lenses, pediatric eye care, co-management of cataract and refractive surgery patients, and neuro-ophthalmology. She completed her externship rotations at TIRR Rehabilitation Center working with traumatic brain injury patients and also at the Richmond Institute working with disabled and mentally challenged patients. She has volunteered for OneSight, a nonprofit organization that provides eye exams and glasses to underserved communities. Her most memorable clinic was at an Indian reservation in Montana.
Outside of work Dr. Tran enjoys traveling, working out, and spending time with her husband and daughters.
